In the United States, sonographers must hold a qualification license to work. THE AMERICAN REGISTRY FOR DIAGNOSTIC MEDICAL SONOGRAPHY® (ARDMS) is an independent, not-for-profit organization. It is a certification body with ansi-iso17024 certification of the famous American National Standards Institute and simultaneous certification of the international organization for Standardization (ISO).
In the United States, medical sonographers must hold a qualification license (ARDMS) to work. Canada, Europe and Asian countries all recognize the authority of the ARDMS certificate.
To obtain the ARDMS certificate, you must register for the exam and pass the official exam eligibility review, pass the ARDMS SPI exam and a corresponding specialty examination within five years.
Once you have obtained the ARDMS certificate, you will automatically become a CSDMS member of the Canadian Ultrasonic Medical Association and enjoy preferential treatment in employment and other benefits

ARDMS has a wide membership and excellent employment prospects. It is available in both Canada and the United States. According to the statistics of the United States Department of Labor, the average annual salary of the American sonographer is better than that of the general laboratory staff, generally in the range of 7W-11W dollars. All exams have monthly exam schedules, and the reference time can be flexibly arranged.

The ARDMS exam subjects are administered through Pearson Vue test centers in China and around the world
